Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MetroJournal Online LLP (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use Metro Novel (the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account identifier.
- Subscription & payment information: your subscription status and plan. Payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank credentials. Razorpay handles that data under its own privacy policy.
- Usage & reading data: chapters you read, reading history, ratings, and in-app activity used to power features like “continue reading” and recommendations.
- Device & technical data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and a device/notification token used for push notifications and security (e.g. single-session enforcement and integrity checks).
2. How we use your information
- to provide, operate, and secure the Service and your account;
- to process subscriptions, renewals, and to enforce access to paid content;
- to personalize your experience (reading history, ratings, recommendations);
- to send you service-related and, where you have opted in, promotional notifications about new chapters, novels, and updates;
- to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and content piracy;
- to comply with legal obligations.
3. Service providers we share data with
We share the minimum data necessary with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:
- Razorpay — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Google — optional sign-in (OAuth).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications.
- Our hosting and database providers — to run the Service and store data securely.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies and secure, HTTP-only session tokens to keep you signed in and to protect your account. We do not use these for third-party advertising.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account (see “Your rights”).
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted content at rest, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any incident.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent for optional processing (such as promotional notifications). To exercise these rights, email support@metrojournalonline.com.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
10. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact MetroJournal Online LLP at support@metrojournalonline.com or via our Contact page.
